
Matochkina

Born in Mirny (Arkhangelsk Region). In 2004 she graduated from the Arkhangelsk Regional School of Music, conducting and choral department, in 2009 – from the Petrozavodsk Glazunov State Conservatoire (class of Prof. Viktoria Gladchenko). From 2008 to 2016 she was a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers. Since 2009 she has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers. In 2009, she made her debut at the Mariinsky, appearing as Cherubino in Le Nozze de Figaro. Yulia gained an international recognition after winning the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Mariinsky Opera Company.
