Matochkina
Born in Mirny (Arkhangelsk Region). In 2004 she graduated from the Arkhangelsk Regional School of Music, conducting and choral department, in 2009 – from the Petrozavodsk Glazunov State Conservatoire (class of Prof. Viktoria Gladchenko). From 2008 to 2016 she was a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers. Since 2009 she has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers. In 2009, she made her debut at the Mariinsky, appearing as Cherubino in Le Nozze de Figaro. Yulia gained an international recognition after winning the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Mariinsky Opera Company.

Regular guest at the Moscow Easter Festival and the Stars of the White Nights Festival, as well as the Mikkeli (Finland) and Baden-Baden festivals. She appeared at the Edinburg Festival (Les Troyens, Alexander Nevsky), Verbier Festlval (Die Walküre) and BBC Proms in London (Janacek’s Glagolitic Mass).

Federica in Luisa Miller at the Salzburg Festival. Kundry in Parsifal at the Philharmonie de Paris. She gave a solo recital at the renowned De Dolen in Rotterdam.
She collaborated with such renowned conductors as Gennadi Rozhdestvensky in Moskva Cheremushky, James Conlon in Le Rossignol, Renard with EMI label, Fabio Luisi in La Damnation de Faust by Berlioz and Verdi's Requiem.
