Being a laureate of the Avery Fisher award, Ignat Solzhenitsyn is well-known as one of the outstanding contemporary musicians who successfully combines the careers of a conductor and a pianist. His lyrical and extraordinary interpretations have won the approval of critics around the world.

Ignat Solzhenitsyn — is an Honorary Conductor of the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, Chief Guest Conductor of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, professor of piano at the Curtis Institute of Music (a private conservatory in Philadelphia).

As a guest conductor, he performs with major American orchestras (Baltimore, Dallas, Toronto, Indianapolis, Seattle, New Jersey), as well as Russian (The Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic, the Ekaterinburg and Nizhniy Novgorod orchestras) and collaborates with many outstanding soloists such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Richard Goode, Garrick Olsson, Sergei Leiferkus, Sylvia McNair, Gary Graffman, Steven Isserlis, Nikolai Petrov.

In previous seasons the intensive touring of Ignat Solzhenitsyn the pianist in the USA and Europe included concerts with the symphonic orchestras of Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Washington DC, Montreal, Toronto, London, Paris, Naples, Israel and Sydney and collaborations with such renowned conductors Herbert Blomstedt, Valery Gergiev, Charles Dutoit, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Krzysztof Penderecki, André Previn, Mstislav Rostropovich, Yuri Temirkanov. Solzhenitsyn frequently performs with solo concerts in the USA, Europe, Japan, Australia at such major global musical centres as New York, San Francisco, London, Milan, Zurich, Moscow, Tokyo and Sydney.

A fine performer of chamber music, Ignat Solzhenitsyn collaborates with such string quartets as the Emerson, the Borodin and the Brentano, and with the famous pianist Mitsuko Uchida. He performs at international festivals, including in Salzburg, Evian, Ludwigsburg, Marlborough and Nizhny Novgorod. He is a repeated participant of “December Evenings“ in Moscow.
