Sergei Skorohodov began his operatic career in 2007, when he joined the the Mariinsky Theatre and nearly immediately became a leading soloist of this theatre. In 2010 debuted at the Metropolitan opera as Ivan (The Nose).
Under the baton of Maestro Valery Gergiev, Sergei has performed in various theatres and concert halls such as Festspielhaus Baden Baden, the Royal Opera in Stockholm, Metropolitan Opera House in New York, Washington National Opera, Welsh National Opera and others.
His critically highly acclaimed recent successes include the performances in Lohengrin, Lucia di Lammermoor, Tosca, The Nose, Der fliegende Holländer, Nabucco, Ariadne auf Naxos, La Traviata at the Mariinsky Theatre, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Valencia Palau de la Musica, Chicago Lyric Opera, Glynderbourne Festival and many others. He currently performs at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Teatro alla Scala, Toronto Opera, Opéra national de Paris.
After his 2007 debut at the Bolshoi Theatre as Grigoriy Boris Godunov Sergey Skorohodov also sang Vaudémont Iolanta (2016), the title part in Lohengrin (2022, premiere performances), Andrei Mazeppa there.
