Shanin
Born in the village of Borovukho, Vitesbks region (Belarus). In 1979 graduated from the Moscow State Conservatoire, violin class, then in 1982 obtained a post-graduate degree there (class of Dmitry Tsyganov).
In 1982 was accepted into the USSR Ministry of Culture State Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of G. Rozhdestvensky. In 1990 became a concert master of the State Academic Symphonic Capella of Russia (conductors Gennady Rozhdestvensky and Valery Polyansky). In 1995 was appointed general director of the Capella.
Taught at the State Gnesin Music College and the Moscow Conservatory.
Since 2003 has been orchestra director at the Bolshoi Theatre. He is also responsible for the musical instrument depot and the music library of the Bolshoi Theatre.
