Sergei Shevchenko

Educated as a theatrical lightning technician, underwent multiple trainings at different theatrical and concert organizations.

Since 2003, artist in residence at the Bolshoi Theatre. He participated in the opening gala of the New Stage and worked in operatic and ballet productions such as The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia, The Russian Seasons, Moidodyr (Wash’em Clean), St. Francis, the revivals of Boris Godunov and The Fiery Angel.

Frequently collaborates with the Moscow «New Opera» Theatre (Les pêcheurs de perles, Norma, Ruslan and Lyudmila, Die Zauberflöte),

the Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theatre (Aida, The Queen of Spades, Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly, Lucia di Lammermoor, Carmen, La Traviata, Anyuta, Jalil, Eugene Onegin, Swan Lake, Turandot),

the Belarus National Opera and Ballet Theatre (Nabucco, Tosca, Tristan und Isolde, Aida, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Smolsky’s The Ancient Legend),

the opera companies of Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Astana, Ufa, the Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre, etc.

Worked with such scenographers as Robert Wilson, Achim Freyer, Anna Viebrock, David Borovsky, George Alexi-Meskhishvili, Igor Grinevich.

Took part in exclusive theatrical projects by designers Anna Koleichuk and Vadim Tallerov.

Created the lighting score for Skryabin’s Prometheus: The Poem of Fire performed at the Kaliningrad Cathedral.

Created lighting for concert programs and standalone choreographic numbers of Svetlana Zakharova, Maria Alexandrova, Nikita Dmitriyevsky, Yuri Smekalov.

Regularly participates in the international ballet festivals Benois de la Danse and Rudolf Noureev Festival in Kazan.

Winner of the National Theatrical Prize of the Republic of Belarus (2011), nominated for the Russian Golden Mask Theatrical Prize.

With different theatre companies went on tour to Finland, Germany, Greece, Portugal, France, Poland, Spain, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Hungary, Great Britain, Japan, China.
