Antonio Poli

Was born in Viterbo and completed his professional training in Rome with Paola Leolini.

In 2010, aged just 24, he won the first prize and the prize of the audience at the prestigious Hans Gabor Belvedere international competition in Vienna. That same year he took part in the Salzburg Festival Young Singer Project. This marked the start of his international career, performing as Count Almaviva in Mercadante’s opera I due Figaro under conductor Riccardo Muti at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival, at the Ravenna Festival and at the Teatro Real in Madrid.

Following this, he performed at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Staatsoper in Berlin, Chicago Lyric Opera, London Royal Opera House, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro La Fenice in Venice; at the Glyndebourne Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Rheingau Festival and the Salzburg Festival; at the Musikverein in Vienna, Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, at the Vatican and the Duomo in Orvieto.

He made his first appearance at the Bolshoi Theatre as Rodolfo (Luisa Miller), May 2023.

Antonio Poli worked with many of the world’s leading conductors including Mark Elder, Yves Abel, Daniel Harding, Pinchas Steinberg, Riccardo Muti, Sir Andrew Davis, Nicola Luisotti, Bertrand de Billy, Sir Antonio Pappano, Ivor Bolton, Bertrand de Billy, Rolf Beck, Jesus Lopez Cobos and others.
