Maxim Petrov

Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 2012 (class of Gennady Selyutsky). Joined the Mariinsky Ballet the same year. His repertoire at the Mariinsky included ballets by George Balanchine, Alexei Ratmansky, Yuri Grigorovich, Hans van Manen, Angelin Preljocaj, Vaslav Nijinsky – Millicent Hodson, Sasha Waltz.

In April 2014 as part of the Creative Workshop of Young Choreographers at the Mariinsky Theatre Maxim Petrov presented the one-act ballet Cinéma to music by Erik Satie.

Took part in a “Dance Platform” workshop at the Ural Opera Ballet (2014).

Produced the choreography for the operas War and Peace (directed by Graham Vick, 2014), The Golden Cockerel (directed by Anna Matison, 2015), and Samson еt Dalila (directed by Yannis Kokkos, 2016) at the Mariinsky Theatre; Eugene Onegin (directed by Dmitry Volkostrelov) at the Ural Opera Ballet.
