Elena Mikhailenko

Was born in Magnitogorsk. In 2001 graduated with honours from the Magnitogorsk State Conservatory. While a student worked as choir artist at the Magnitogorsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2003, accomplished postgraduate studies at the Moscow State Conservatory (Choral Singing in the Contemporary Music program). Then in 2008, graduated from the vocal faculty of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music (class of Professor R. Lisitsian).

Since 2006, Elena has been a soloist with the Helikon Оpera; the same year she made her brilliant debut as Katerina Izmailova (Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District) at the Israeli Opera (Tel-Aviv) during the Helikon Оpera tour. Her repertoire at the theatre includes more than 30 leading parts.

As a guest soloist, she has performed at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (Kazan). Participated in the productions at the Malmö Opera, Theatre an der Wien, Deutsche Oper am Rhein (Düsseldorf Duisburg), the Rome Opera, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, The National Theatre in Prague among others. She also took part in many Russian and foreign festivals such as Maxim Mikhailov International Opera Festival (Cheboksary), Dmitry Shostakovich Festival of Russian Music (Samara), XIII International Opera Festival “Viva Opera” (Magnitogorsk), Pyotr Tchaikovsky International Art Festival (Klin), Birgitta Festival and Saaremaa Opera Festival (Estonia).

In January 2024, she made her house debut with the Bolshoi Theatre as Ortrud (Lohengrin).
