Mikhail Agafonov

In 1993 he graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (class of Anton Grigoriev). 

In 1994-96 he was a trainee, in 1996-2001 – a soloist with the opera troupe of the Bolshoi Theatre.

In 2001–2015 he was a member of the ensemble at Mannheim National Theatre.

In 2016–2023 he was a soloist with the Novosibirsk state academic opera and ballet theatre (NOVAT).

Performed at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Paris National Opera, Opéra de Lyon, Vienna State Opera, Vienna Volksoper, Bavarian State Opera, Berlin State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Royal Swedish Opera, Vlaamse Opera, Finnish National Opera, Canadian Opera in Toronto, Florida Grand Opera, New National Theatre Tokyo, New Israeli Opera, National Centre for the Performing Arts (China), Teatro Colón Buenos Aires. He took part in Edinburgh Festival, Budapest Summer Festival ecc.
