Magrì
Born in Cantania, Sicily, Ivan Magrì first studied voice with Domenica Monti and eventually received a diploma with full marks from the Conservatorio Giussepe Verdi, where he studied with Giovanni Canetti and Wilma Borelli. Magrì also had the great privilege to be taught by Luciano Pavarotti. He has won many international competitions, such as the Riccardo Zandonai International Competition for young opera singers and the Francesco Maria Martini Competition.
Magrì made his operatic debut in 2006 as Ernesto in Don Pasquale.
He is rapidly gaining recognition as a leading tenor at such theaters as the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Staatsoper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opernhaus Zürich, Hungarian State Opera, Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, as well as in Opera Australia, Houston Grand Opera and Florida Grand Opera (USA), Theatro Municipal in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro Teatro Colon in Buenos, and Aires Palau de les Artes in Valencia; in Italy — Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Regio in Parma, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari. He also take part in Opera Festival Arena di Verona, Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago, Festival Donizetti in Bergamo, Wexford Festival, Macerata Opera Festival, Savonlinna Festival in Finland.
In 2017, Magrì debuted at the Bolshoi Theatre as Alfredo in La Traviata.
