Mikhail Lobukhin

Born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). In 2002 graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy with distinction (class of Boris Bregvadze) and was accepted into the ballet troupe of the Mariinsky Theatre.

Since 2010 has been Principal at the Bolshoi Ballet troupe.

Rehearsed under the supervision of Mikhail Lavrovsky and Valery Lagunov.

Tours

Performed in productions at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Mussa Jalil and the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Participated in several large festivals, such as the International Ballet Festival “Mariinsky” and the Sobinov Music Festival (Saratov).

Has become a permanent participant on the project by Svetlana Zakharova “Amore” (premiered in 2016), performed the part of Giovanni in the ballet Francesca da Rimini to music by P. Tchaikovsky (choreography by Y.Possokhov) and the ballet Strokes Through the Tail to music by W.A. Mozart (choreography by M. Donlon), as well as in her project “Modanse” (2019). As part of the latter, performed in the ballet Like a Breath to music by G.F. Handel (choreography by M. Bigonzetti) and the ballet Gabrielle Chanel by I.Demutsky (choreography by Y. Possokhov), where he performed the part of Étienne Balsan. The first programme of the one-act ballets was shown at the Bolshoi Theatre, St Petersburg, several cities in Italy, Perelada (Spain), Greece, Monte Carlo (Monaco), London, Helsinki, Sofia, Prague, Beijing, Tokyo and many more. The second programme was performed at the Bolshoi Theatre, London, Beijing and St Petersburg.
