Roman Burdenko

Roman Burdenko was born in Barnaul. He studied at the Glinka Novosibirsk State Conservatoire (class of Vladimir Prudnik) before transferring to the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Vladimir Vaneyev) from which he graduated in 2008. In 2009 he trained on the Young Opera Singers programme at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome).

From 2006-2011 he appeared with the Mikhailovsky Theatre. Since 2019 he has been a guest soloist of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT).

Since 2010 Roman Burdenko has regularly appeared at the foremost theatres in the USA and Europe, such as Bayerische Staatsoper in München, Komische Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Opernhaus Zürich, Royal Danish Opera Copenhagen, Bilbao Opera, Opéra de Lille, Opera du Rhin in Strasbourg, Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile,  также поет в Opera Kansas and Palm Beach Opera (USA). He has also appeared in productions of Glyndebourne Festival.

In 2013 he made his Mariinsky Theatre debut as Belcore in the premiere of a new production of L’elisir d’amore. In 2017 the singer joined the Mariinsky Opera Company. 

He debuted at the Bolshoi Theatre in 2017, performing the title part in Prince Igor.
