Borisov
Born in Leningrad. In 1968, completed his education at the Choir College at the Glinka State Academic Capella in Leningrad. In 1973, graduated from the faculty of choral conducting at the Leningrad Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatoire, then in 1978 – from the faculty of opera and symphony conducting.
From 1976 to 1986 was a conductor at the Glinka Academic Capella. Between 1988 and 2000 was chief choral master at the Leningrad Kirov Theatre of Opera and Ballet (now the Mariinsky). With the choir of that theatre, prepared over seventy works in the genres of opera, cantata-oratorio and symphony.
For an extended period, was artistic director and conductor of the creative group Saint-Petersburg-Mozarteum, which combined a Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Chorus, musicians and vocalists.
Since 1996, has been assistant professor at the St Petersburg Conservatoire.
Since 2003 has been Chief Chorus Master of the Bolshoi Theatre.
In 2004, for the first time, conducted the opera Eugene Onegin by P. Tchaikovsky at the Bolshoi Theatre.
Together with the troupe of the Mariinsky Theatre, recorded over twenty Russian and foreign operas with the company Philips, toured with the choir to Lisbon, Baden-Baden, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, New York and Omaha.
