Bondarenko
Was born in 1987 in Kamenez-Podolsky (Ukraine). In 2009 he graduated from the National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music in Kiev (Valery Buimister’s class).
In 2005-2007 he was a soloist with the Ukraine National Philharmonic Society.
Since 2007 he has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers in St Petersburg, where he debuted as Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. He also gave his role debut as Billy in Britten’s Billy Budd in the first ever production in Russia (Mikhailovsky Theatre, St. Petersburg, 2013).
In 2022-23 season, he joined the new ensemble of Volksoper Wien.
Andrei regularly performs at Opernhaus Zürich, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hamburg, New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, Palm Beach Opera, Münchner Opernfestspiele, Bayerische Staatsoper in München, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Scottish Opera in Glasgow, Oper Köln, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Dallas Opera, Oper im Steinbruch St Margarethen, Vilnius City Opera, Israeli Opera, Tel Aviv, Mariinsky Theatre, St Petersburg, Perm Opera, Teatro Real de Madrid, Glyndebourne Festival and Touring Opera, Oper Stuttgart.
He has worked extensively with Valery Gergiev, Ivor Bolton, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Vasily Petrenko, Enrique Mazzola, Kirill Karabits, Teodor Currentzis, Emanuelle Villaume, Omer Meir Wellber, Alain Altinoglou, Daniele Callegari, Lorenzo Viotti, Stefano Ranzani, Giacomo Sagripanti, Giampaolo Bisanti, Nick Carter, Ivan Repušic, Dmitry Kitajenko and Cornelius Meister.
In January 2017 Andrei Bondarenko made his debut at the Bolshoi Theatre, performing the role of Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro.
