Elchin Azizov

Born in Baku. In 1997, graduated from the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art as film director.

In 2005—07 studied at the Summer Academy of Mozarteum University in Salzburg (classes of Richard Miller, Alessandro Mishashi). Between 2005 and 2007 trained at the Opera studio, part of the Baku Academy of Music named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov (class of Azad Aliev).

In 2007 received training at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre (class of Badri Maisuradze). Since 2008 has been a soloist of the opera troupe of the Bolshoi Theatre.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (New York), the Seoul Concert Palace, the Symphony Hall in Birmingham, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and the Moscow International House of Music.

Participated in the opera festival in Savonlinna (Finland), the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Chorégies d’Orange, the festivals at the Opéra de Lyon and others.

Collaborated with many famous conductors, such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Charles Dutoit, Jader Bignamini, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Kirill Petrenko and Peter Feranec.

Appeared in films (Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey). Directed several films and theatre productions.
