Ann Petersen

Ann Petersen is a well-known international soprano and is notable for her performances especially in the German repertoire of R. Wagner and R. Strauss. She has compelling and charismatic stage presence.

Ann Petersen has been singing at many of the major Opera Houses such as: Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper Berlin, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, Opéra National de Paris, Teatro Real de Madrid and Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.

Next to her international career, she is an ensemble member at The Royal Danish Opera.

Ann Petersen’s recent and future engagements include (among others): Isolde/Tristan und Isolde at the Royal Danish Opera, at La Monnaie de Bruxelles with Alain Altinoglu and Ralf Pleger and at Teatro Comunale di Bologna (with Maestro Valcuha); Turandot (her debût) with Alexander Verdernikov in Copenhagen; Salome with Claus Gut and Sokhiev at Bolshoi Theater; Sieglinde/Walküre at NCPA Beijing; Leonore/Fidelio at the Royal Danish Opera and at Teatr Wielki in Warsaw; Ariadne/Ariadne auf Naxos at the Theâtres de la ville de Luxemburg; Kundry/Parsifal at the Royal Danish Opera, Judith/Bluebeard’s Castle with Aarhus Symfoniorkester.

The highlights of 2017-2018 included Beethoven 9. Symphony in Tel Aviv (2018), Isolde/Tristan und Isolde in Kassel (2018), Ellen Orford/Peter Grimes in Monte Carlo with José Curâ (2018), Isolde/Tristan und Isolde at Opera de Lyon with Häenchen, and at the NCPA in Beijing, directed by Mariusz Trelinski ( 2017), “Vier Letzte Lieder” by R. Strauss with Orchestra National de Radio France Paris, Gala Concert at Bolshoi Theatre (2 act. Tannhäuser) and Minnie (her debût)/ Fanciulla del West in Copenhagen (2017).

Highlights in 2015/2016 included Elsa/Lohengrin in Hamburg conducted by Nagano, Freia/Das Rheingold at Semper Oper Dresden conducted by Thielemann, Senta/Der fliegende Holländer in Copenhagen, debut as Salome also at the Royal Danish Opera in Stefan Herheims regie. Further engagements in 2015/2016 included the Marschallin/Der Rosenkavalier at Wiener Staatsoper conducted by Adam Fischer, Leonore/Fidelio in Taiwan, Kaiserin/Frau ohne Schattenin at Copenhagen and Gutrune/Götterdämmerung at the Staatsoper Berlin conducted by Daniel Barenboim.

Higlights in season 2014/2015 included Die Marschallin/Der Rosenkavalier in Copenhagen, Isoldes “Liebestod” in a Tribute Concert to Montserrat Caballé at Teatro Real de Madrid, Isolde/Tristan und Isolde at the Greek National Opera in Athens and Elisabeth/Tannhäuser with Barenboim at Staatsoper Berlin.

Highlights in the seasons of 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 included Elsa/Lohengrin at La Scala di Milano with Barenboim and J. Kaufmann, Elisabeth/Tannhäuser with Barenboim at Staatsoper Berlin, Elisabeth/Tannhäuser in Copenhagen, Senta/Der fliegende Holländer at the Chorégies d’Orange, Desdemona/Otello in Copenhagen, Senta/Der fliegende Holländer in Copenhagen and Wagner Galas in Baden-Baden with Thielemann (Isolde and Elsa), at Opéra de Monte-Carlo (Sieglinde and Isolde) and in Copenhagen (Sieglinde) with K. Petrenko.

Her Concert repertoire include among others, Beethoven 9. Symphony (with Kent Nagano, Marc Soustrout), Mahler’s 2., 4. & 8. Symphonies, Verdi’s Requiem, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, R. Strauss’ Orchestra Lieder & Four Last Songs (with Hartmut Haenchen, Kent Nagano), R.
