The Bolshoi is continuing its Rachmaninov year with the participation in the large-scale Moscow Regional Festival — “Summer. Music. Museum” which is taking place for the sixth time on the premises of New Jerusalem State History and Art Museum. This year the festival will be dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Rachmaninov.

The organizers are hoping to significantly expand its audience since the festival’s venue has been enlarged, which is invariably located in the open air amongst natural and architectural beauties, and therefore the cast of participants cannot but make a strong impression on potential listeners.

A grandiose celebration with the participation of the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation and young and talented instrumental soloists will be crowned by the performances of soloists of the opera troupe and orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre. On the 8th and 9th of July, the Bolshoi will perform the opera Aleko and the poem The Bells by Sergei Rachmaninov — it will be a powerful final chord of the festival in Istra’s New Jerusalem.
